Suite of 16 screenprints, printed in white on acetate, showing details of the ‘transparent shadows’ cast by two of Duchamp’s most famous readymades: ‘Bicycle Wheel’ of 1913, and ‘Bottle Dryer’ of 1914.
Edition of 100. This suite of screenprints was issued in the first 100 copies of the book ‘Marcel Duchamp ou le chateau de la purete’ by Octavio Paz, published by Editions Claude Givauden, Paris, 1967. This is number 34 from the edition of 100. The prints are accompanied by a copy of the book which is hand-signed by both Octavio Paz and Duchamp, as well as the original portfolio slipcased in black cardboard which houses both the book and prints.
Beautiful copy of this rare Duchamp print series.
