"These screenprints were adapted from drawings Knowles originally made as preparatory studies for his sculpture, but which he also considers separate works. The source drawings were made of geometrical shapes cut from brightly coloured paper collaged onto graph paper in a variety of arrangements. The composition of 'S.26.02' consists of ten segments of circles, rendered in solid blocks of colour, eight of which are coloured black and two yellow. These are arranged over a number of black arcs, several of which line up in such a way that they almost complete the circular forms." - Quotation Tate
