"These screenprints were adapted from drawings Knowles originally made as preparatory studies for his sculpture, but which he also considers separate works. The source drawings were made of geometrical shapes cut from brightly coloured paper collaged onto graph paper in a variety of arrangements. 'S.28.02' is composed of five flat, solid triangular forms of equal size, four coloured yellow and one black. These are positioned the same way and arranged to roughly form two diagonal rows across the page. Four arcs defined as thin black lines are arranged between the triangles." - quotation Tate
