This print depicts Piccadilly Circus looking up Regent Street.

Edith Lawrence wrote in a letter to Lill Tschudi, 3 February 1950, ‘…we were so delighted with your lino cuts…They are really splendid, both so different & both so typical of London (London Buses) & France (Le Long des Quais). I think on the whole I prefer the London one because it is more subtle. But you have got your experience across marvellously in them both, and of course as always you are an absolute master of the medium. We show them to whomever we can who are likely to be interested here, & everyone is most enthusiastic’

‘Why, London itself is a Futurist City! Look at those brilliant motor-buses, these enormous, glaring posters. Look at the coloured electric lights that flash advertisements into the night’ - Marinetti
